The 2010 World Link for Law Annual Conference will be held between Thursday 14th and Saturday 16th October 2010 in Athens, Greece, homeland to gods, goddesses and some of the world's greatest philosophers and athletes and the cradle of western civilisation. Athens also boasts iconic ancient temples like the Acropolis and its Parthenon; the winding and narrow streets of the Plaka; and the ancient Agorá's marketplace, where Socrates made public speeches and democracy was born.
The conference hotel is the 5 star Royal Olympic Hotel, located on the edge of the famous Plaka district of Athens, overlooking the temple of Zeus, with stunning views towards the Acropolis, but away from the bustling and noisy central squares. The conference will include many informative discussions and workshop sessions, as well as social events, with numerous opportunities to meet World Link for Law colleagues.
Overview
Thursday (14th) and Friday (15th) are the 'conference days', and will include interesting speaker sessions on a variety of current international legal and business issues, plus lunches and coffees/tea breaks for delegates, on both days.
On Wednesday (13th October), before the first day of the conference, there is the option of a group dinner after pre-dinner drinks at a small restaurant in the Plaka district, a short walk from the hotel. On Thursday evening (15th October), after the first conference day, there will be an informal evening restaurant dinner with traditional musical entertainment. On Friday afternoon there is a guided city tour by bus, including a tour of the Acropolis, followed by an evening dinner in the conference hotel in its rooftop restaurant.
On Saturday (16th October), there is a full day guided bus based excursion out of the city to famous Greek historical and archaeological sites on the Peloponnese peninsular, including a casual harbour-side lunch. There are half day spouse/guest tours on both Thursday and Friday.
