Collyer Bristow LLP – UK – wins international excellence accolade
The achievements of World Link for Law London-based law firm Collyer Bristow LLP have been recognised by the UK Law Society (national bar association) in its annual Excellence Awards. Almost 600 leading lawyers and their guests joined the President of the Law Society at an awards ceremony in London (October 2010). Collyer Bristow was presented with the award for ‘Excellence in International Legal Services’ by Law Society President Linda Lee. The President said she was "extremely impressed" by the high standard of entries. The awards judges were impressed by Collyer Bristow’s focused and committed approach to the development of their international practice.  They noted that the firm’s strategy was supported by its broader business activities and by the fact that the ‘international ethos’ ran throughout the firm. The judges commented: "Collyer Bristow has successfully demonstrated how a ‘traditional mid-sized firm’ can adapt their business model to respond to, and effectively compete for, opportunities in the international marketplace."

New Initiative - World Trade Link

World Link for Law members have created a database of key clients and international business matchmaking service called World Trade Link. The database is categorised according to the market sectors of the clients (e.g. transport or construction) and also by their geographic location, although the clients are not named on the database. Currently there are over 600 records. You can use it to seek out business development, joint venture or similar opportunities into new territories - ask to contact a company via the World Link for Law member firm's email. The file can be down-loaded as either a Word or Excel document. A dedicated website will be launched in the near future to promote World Trade Link and this will also include a facility to request specific matchmaking possibilities.
