A World Link for Law Arbitration Group Zoom forum was held on Wednesday 16 September on the important and sometimes controversial topic of “Transparency in the appointment of arbitrators”.

Attended by over 20 participants, the session covered the arbitrators’ duty of disclosure and the removal of arbitrators for justifiable doubts about impartiality and included discussions about the IBA Guidelines on Conflicts of Interest in International Arbitration 2014.

The guest speaker was Sir Andrew Smith - a former English High Court judge who for some years was the judge in charge of the Commercial Court which has supervisory powers over arbitrators.
