Montgomery & Associados was formed in June 2013 as a spin-off from another Brazilian law firm. It currently has an office in São Paulo, with a network of correspondents across Brazil.  The firm offers a whole new concept of legal service called “lean full service”, where each lawyer offers specialty services in two or three areas of law, to keep legal teams lean and efficient and overall cost in check – allowing the firm to offer competitive fee rates. The firm specialises in a wide range of areas including: aviation & shipping, corporate/M&A, contracts, project and trade finance, debt restructuring, litigation, IP/IT, tax, employment, real estate, environmental law, antitrust/competition, insurance and reinsurance, media and entertainment (including sports law and gaming and betting), amongst other areas of law. The firm is led by Managing Partner Neil Montgomery, who is a dual national (British/Brazilian) and has worked in both London and São Paulo.  He is the only Brazilian lawyer to have been ranked by Chambers and Partners in four different practice areas, namely: aviation, corporate / M & A, insurance and reinsurance, media and entertainment.
